1780

This shirt recognizes New England's Dark Day in 1780. The Dark Day was a mysterious event in which the entire sky turned black for a period of approximately 36 hours. Theories suggest that the cause of the black sky was due to a combination of fires, clouds, and fog. There are reports of other atmospheric effects lasting for one to two weeks after the initial day. One of these reports was that the sun appeared to be as red as "blood from the heart."
